Labor Party Chairman Merav Michaeli expresses support for the violent event yesterday (Tuesday) near the "Rosh Yehudi" branch in Tel Aviv, where Rabbi Yigal Levinstein was attacked and calls of death were heard against the participants in the event.

At the 'Religion and City' conference of the Faithful Torah and Avoda movement, Kolech and Itim, Michaeli said: "It is justified to protest against Rabbi Levinstein. This is a man who fights against women in the public sphere in general and against women in the IDF in particular. When he acts from his yeshiva against the IDF, women and liberalism in the democratic country, using the large amount of money he receives from the state, no one protests against him."

Knesset member Michali also spoke about gender separation in public spaces and argued that "the messianic extremists have always been there, but the immense money now allows them to carry out their aggressive actions, take control of the discourse, and determine the nature of Israel. Segregation should be illegal, and there is no difference between gender segregation and racial segregation."

She also added, "A partition in the middle of Dizengoff is an absurdity. There shouldn't be a partition at the Western Wall either. The Western Wall has turned into an extremist ultra-Orthodox synagogue, and it's a testament to the poverty of what's happening in the State of Israel."
