Former Prime Minister Ehud Barak was interviewed by the American CBS network, attacked the government and legal legislation and threatened that people would die in future protests.

Ehud Barak conducted interviews with the American media in parallel to Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu's visit to the UN General Assembly in New York. During an interview with the American CBS network, Barak expressed strong criticism against the government and the Prime Minister, even going as far as to threaten that we are heading towards widespread civil unrest and death in the streets.

Barak began the interview by stating that Prime Minister Netanyahu is "disconnected, isolated, and unbalanced" and that "he will do everything to escape from the Israeli justice system, which holds evidence of wrongdoing by 97 percent." Barak also distanced himself from the government and referred to the elected government as "illegitimate, and in my opinion, it is no longer legal." He accused the government of "working to change the system in order to harm the rights of minorities, LGBTQ+ individuals, and women."

Additionally, Barak threatened that "we are on the path to a mass civil revolt, the real heroes are the pilots and elite soldiers who refuse to serve the government. I explained to the protesters that it might take time, some people may lose their lives along the way, but we will prevail no matter the cost."

Barak also criticized Ministers Ben Gvir and Smotrich, likening them to insurgents who stormed the U.S. Capitol, saying: "Netanyahu took 'the proud boys' and turned them into leaders."
