US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken spoke this evening (Tuesday) with Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and with the Chairman of the Palestinian Authority Abu Mazen - this was announced this evening (Tuesday) by the State Department at the White House.

According to the American announcement, in a conversation with Netanyahu in Lincoln, he "reaffirmed the strength of the partnership between the countries and the commitment of the United States to Israel's security." It was also reported that the two leaders "discussed mutual interests, including the expansion of Israel's regional integration in the Middle East and dealing with the threats from Iran. Blinken reiterated the continued US support for policies that guarantee freedom, security, and prosperity for both - Israelis and Palestinians."

It was also said about the conversation between Blinken and Abu Mazen that "the Secretary of State expressed his concern about the ongoing violence in the West Bank. In his words, Blinken emphasized American support for steps to promote the freedom and security of the Palestinians and improve their quality of life. The two discussed their support for the two-state solution and their opposition to steps that would jeopardize its feasibility."
