The lawyer and social activist, Gonen Ben Yitzhak, announced this morning that following the court's ruling against him last night, as of this morning he is considered a "convicted criminal", as he defined it. Ben Yitzhak clarified that he does not believe that anyone acted against him, but accepts the ruling as it is.

On his Twitter account, Ben Yitzhak wrote: "The court convicted me last night of the crime of obstructing a police officer in the performance of his duties. Until this determination does not change, if it ever does, I am a convicted criminal."

Ben Yitzhak emphasized that "I have objections to the conclusion reached by the court, but even now, or perhaps precisely now, I bow my head before the court."

"They did not frame me and the state did not act against me. This is a state of law. Even when the results are severe. And I would repeat it again if I believed it would save even one eye," Ben Yitzhak wrote.

Ben Yitzhak was convicted of disrupting a police officer in the performance of his duty while attending a protest in front of Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu's residence about two months ago. He was also acquitted of an unlawful assembly charge, which was also included in the indictment against him.
