The Magistrate's Court in Kfar Saba ruled today (Wednesday) that Yair Netanyahu, the son of the Prime Minister, will compensate Dana Kashdi in the amount of 130,000 NIS for defamation. In their ruling, the judges noted: "The publications examined and quoted in this case, along with the accompanying comments, are a clear example of the violent, baseless, and at times, shameful discourse that takes place on social networks. A significant portion of the statements is truly shocking and offensive."

In the verdict, it is written: "The two tweets that the defendant tweeted on Twitter regarding the plaintiff within a short period, against the background of his other publications from the same period, connected her and attributed to her an intimate relationship with Benny Gantz. It is permissible to note that there is no dispute between the parties that such a relationship did not exist."

According to the ruling, the Prime Minister's son attributed an intimate relationship with Benny Gantz to the plaintiff. "It is permissible to note that there is no dispute between the parties that such a relationship did not exist" the judges stated.

The judges: "The defendant evaded and stammered in his answers"

Furthermore, it is noted in the ruling: "The two publications that touched upon the plaintiff were published during a period in which the defendant frequently posted publications on social networks, in which he attributed opportunistic relationships with women to Mr. Gantz. As stated in the judgment, Mr. Gantz was not a party in this proceeding, and the truth of the publications regarding him was not intended to be established before me." In conclusion, they wrote: "Nevertheless, as stated above, in the limited questions directed to the defendant in these matters, his evasive and convoluted answers were sufficient to indicate that then and even today, more than 3 years later, he has no tangible evidence to substantiate their accuracy. According to the defendant himself, 'I have no way to verify or confirm this.'"

"The judges stated: 'Against this backdrop, it is fitting for every person and all the more so for the son of the Prime Minister of Israel, whose followers number around 140,000 individuals, to exercise self-restraint and caution in expressions and publications.'"
