Electricity across Lebanon was cut late Saturday after the country's last operational power station shut down due to a severe fuel shortage. "Despite all efforts to maintain energy production, the final power station has ceased operations, resulting in a nationwide blackout," announced the government.

Beirut airport will continue to function with the aid of backup generators, and citizens are advised to conserve water. The power outage impacts private consumers and crucial infrastructure, including ports, water supply systems, prisons, and sanitation services.

Lebanon's power company stated that it cannot predict how long the crisis will last but assured that updates will be provided. Routine power outages are common in Lebanon, where residents are accustomed to intermittent electricity and rely on generators.
