Following Spain's announcement this morning (Tuesday) recognizing a Palestinian state, Ireland says it intends to follow suit, including full diplomatic relations between Dublin and Ramallah and a full ambassador sent to Palestine.

However, Minister Eamon Ryan clarified by saying that Ireland recognizes the right of Palestine's citizens to be recognized as a state - but also clearly recognizes the right of Israel to exist.
