The leader of the Democratic majority in the US Senate, Chuck Schumer, rejected Netanyahu's request to talk at the Democratic Conference of Senators after he virtually appeared at the Republican event.
According to reports, Schumer announced in response to Prime Minister Netanyahu's request that "the talks should not take place in party separation" and that there is no reason for Netanyahu to speak at the Republican convention and then separately at the Democratic one.
This is another sting from the Democrats to Netanyahu, especially after it was reported that President Biden and the Prime Minister agreed to calm tensions between the leaders. Schumer is also the one who gave an unprecedented speech a few days ago, in which he called for new elections in Israel and the replacement of the current government, which he deemed "far-right" and "extreme."
