"A Ceasefire is Needed"

Biden: "A Ceasefire is Needed in the War to Release the Captives"

President Joe Biden said that a "break" is needed in the war in the Gaza Strip: "It means giving time to release the captives. I support a two-state solution, but the fact is that Hamas is a clear terrorist organization."

President Joe Biden called for a "break" in the war in the Gaza Strip last night (Wednesday), following an altercation with a protester who called for a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas. However, Biden clarified that the goal of the required "break" is to bring about the release of the captives held in the Gaza Strip.

The incident occurred during a fundraising event for Biden's election campaign in Minnesota, when a woman shouted towards the American president, "As a rabbi, I need you to call for a ceasefire now." In response, Biden said, "I think we need a break in the war - meaning to give time to release the captives." At this point, the woman was removed from the venue by security while continuing to call out, "Ceasefire now."

Biden added and said that he understands the feelings surrounding the war in Israel throughout the Middle East and the entire world. "It's very complicated for the Israelis, and it's very complicated for the Muslim world as well," he argued. "I support a two-state solution, I've supported it from the beginning. But the fact is that Hamas is a clear terrorist organization, unequivocally."
