Reduced to dust by the IDF

Only one rocket? This is how the Islamic Jihad marked 5 years since Operation 'Black Belt'

Five years ago, the Islamic Jihad fired 450 rockets towards the Gush Dan area following the assassination of the Northern Brigade commander, Bahaa Abu al-Ata. This evening, they settled for one rocket towards the Gaza envelope.

Five years since Operation Black Belt, and the Islamic Jihad organization no longer poses a threat to Israel. A red alert was sounded this evening in Kibbutz Aza. IDF spokesperson stated that the Air Force intercepted one launch that crossed from the north of the Gaza Strip.

A minute after the launch, the Islamic Jihad announced that it fired the rocket at the hour of Baha Abu al-Ata – 9:00 PM, the time he used to fire rockets towards Israel in memory of the commander of the organization's northern brigade, who was eliminated in the opening strike of Operation Black Belt, exactly five years ago today.

For comparison, in that operation, the PIJ fired 450 rockets and paralyzed the Gaza envelope, northern Negev, and Gush Dan for three days. This time he has the ability to fire a rocket into the border area of the strip, which was also intercepted.

The Islamic Jihad once posed a threat to Israel's safety but has now been reduced to dust. Let us hope and pray that the exact same happens for all terrorist organizations who think its a good idea to fired rockets at the land of Israel. May we learn from history and realise that this war, we can win too.
