A 3-year-old boy was killed today (Sunday) in a serious car accident on Highway 1 near the Daniel interchange. In addition, two injured people were evacuated from the scene in moderate and light condition.
The accident happened around 1:20pm and involved two private vehicles and a truck. Medics and paramedics who arrived at the scene were unfortunately forced to pronounce the child dead. The police announced that following the accident, Highway 1 from the Daniel interchange was closed to traffic.
Naftali Rotenberg and Moshe Mizrahi, medics of United Hatzalah, said: "While traveling, we came across a serious accident scene involving a truck and two vehicles. Unfortunately, a 3-year-old boy was pronounced dead as a result of the nature of the serious injuries he suffered. We also provided first aid at the scene of the accident to a man and a woman who were moderately injured."
MDA paramedics Moshe Galbstein and Shimon Paresh said: "This was a shocking car accident. We saw a 3-year-old boy lying on the side of the road far from the vehicle, unconscious without a pulse and without breathing. We performed medical tests, but unfortunately his injury was critical and we had to determine his death.
At the same time, other teams provided medical treatment to 2 wounded, one of them, a man about 30 years old, was moderately injured and the other was mildly injured. We put them in MDA ambulances and evacuated them to the hospital while continuing to treat them."
