"Entirely false": Political source responds to report on Beirut bombing halt

According to an Israeli political source, reports in the Saudi and Israeli media that the government has ordered a halt to the bombing in Beirut are false.

A political source speaking to Israel Hayom tonight (Sunday) said that reports that the Israeli government has ordered a halt to targeted attacks in Beirut are "entirely false."

According to the source, "the report regarding an ostensible instruction by the political echelon to the IDF to stop or limit attacks in Beirut is entirely false. Israel maintains freedom of action everywhere in Lebanon - in accordance with the presence of targets."

The Saudi outlet al-Hadath previously reported today that the IDF has halted its targeted bombings in Beirut, according to its sources. The halt is reportedly due to the phone call last Wednesday between Prime Minister Netanyahu and US President Biden.

Kann reporter Roy Sharon confirmed that the IDF ceased bombing targets in Beirut on the order of the government.

This is the IDF's response to the report, according to Israel Hayom: "The IDF is fighting to achieve the goals of the war, according to an organized plan and in accordance with the instructions of the political echelon. We will not address the dialogue between the IDF and the political echelon."
