On the Path to a Ceasefire: Netanyahu Ordered to Moderate Strikes in Lebanon

Despite widespread public criticism, News 12 reported that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has instructed the IDF to moderate its strikes in Lebanon amid ongoing ceasefire negotiations in the north.

Continuing to backtrack, Netanyahu's order to the military is cited as the reason why the IDF has targeted weapons depots and infrastructure positions of Hezbollah, but with less intensity and frequency than seen in recent days.

As reported this morning (Thursday) by News 12 correspondent Yaron Abraham, the IDF's Air Force attacked approximately 75 Hezbollah terror targets in the Bekaa Valley and southern Lebanon overnight, including weapons storage facilities, launchers prepared for firing at Israel, military buildings, militants, and military infrastructure of the organization.

Following reports of a ceasefire between Israel and Hezbollah, a source in the Prime Minister's office confirmed this morning that "there is a green light for a ceasefire for the purposes of negotiations." It's worth noting that just yesterday, during consultations with ministers, Netanyahu stated that "negotiations will only be under fire; we will continue to strike Hezbollah with full force." Simultaneously, a source close to the Prime Minister indicated that "Netanyahu and Drummer's red line is to push Hezbollah beyond the Litani. Currently, there are no negotiations."
