This morning (Thursday), the IDF's brigade 7 combat team concluded an exercise which was led by the National Ground Training Center (Mali).
The exercise took place several kilometers from the Lebanese border and trained the forces in maneuvering and fighting in complex and mountainous terrain.
During the exercise, the forces increased their operational and logistical readiness for various combat scenarios in northern enemy territory.
At the time of publication, Netanyahu and Hezbollah have been offered (and strongly encouraged to agree to) a ceasefire of 21 days, to give renewed negotiations more time. Netanyahu has put out mixed messages. Just yesterday, he promised that he would not stop the fighting and that if there were negotiations, they would take place under fire.
It is also rumored that Jordan secretly signed a ceasefire agreement with the U.S., even though Hezbollah did not agree to this or even want it.
Israel is still attacking terror sites in Lebanon. They recalled two combat brigades to the Northern border late yesterday, to protect the residents and also to prepare for a possible ground invasion.
According to the Washington Post, Herzi Halevi told troops situated on the Northern border, “We are preparing the process of a maneuver ... which means your military boots ... will enter enemy territory. You will go in, destroy the enemy there and decisively destroy their infrastructure.”
