The IDF just announced today (Tuesday) that it is carrying out a targeted strike in Beirut. The previous such strike aimed to eliminate Ali Karaki, one of the most senior remaining Hezbollah commanders in charge of the southern front, a strike which reportedly failed to kill the target.

Israel claims to have assassinated the last senior member of Hezbollah. In a statement published by Hezbollah this evening, the terror organization claims that the commander of the organization's southern front, Ali Karaki, is alive and has been moved to a safe place. "Regarding the claims of the Zionist enemy about the murder of Brother Mujahid Ali Karaki, we confirm that the dear Mujahid brother, Commander Hajj Ali Karaki, is in good condition and is, by the will of Almighty God, safe and sound and has moved to a safe place," Hezbollah said in a statement.

Karaki is the last surviving senior Hezbollah official (apart from Nasrallah) and the commander of the Badr unit (Litani-Sidon sector) which is a lower rank than him. In the afternoon, the IDF announced that it had attacked in the heart of Beirut. In unofficial briefings, it was said that the target of the attack was a senior Hezbollah official, Ali Karaki, who is responsible for the southern Lebanese front facing Israel.

Locals recorded the moment of the impact in the building where he was staying. The first ones were on the building, where he was probably staying. Similar to the attack in which Akhil and other Hezbollah officials were killed, it seems that the attack was aimed at the lower floors of the building or even the underground area of the building.
