IDF Spokesperson in Arabic, Avichai Adraee, responded today (Thursday) to the Arab reports that claimed six UNRWA workers were killed during an IDF airstrike on a school in the Nuseirat refugee camp in Gaza. He denied the accusations against Israel and explained that the IDF investigation showed that the names published were those of Hamas operatives.
"In response to the accusations and falsehoods about what happened, we clarify: The IDF attacked yesterday, precisely, based on intelligence from the Intelligence Agency, Shin Bet, and Division 252, targeting terrorists operating within a Hamas command and control facility that used to be the Al-Jaouni School in Nuseirat in the central Gaza Strip."
"Upon receiving reports that UNRWA workers were killed in the raid, the IDF contacted the agency for details and names to investigate the claims – but the agency did not respond to repeated requests."
"The IDF's investigation shows that many of the published names are of Hamas operatives, who continue to deploy and conceal terrorist operatives and infrastructure within humanitarian facilities and systematically use civilians in Gaza as human shields," he added.
