Illegal Arabs from the West Bank found in Haredi Neighbourhood in Jerusalem

Police from the Jerusalem District located three illegal residents hiding in a house in the Mea Shearim neighborhood of the city. During the arrest, a small group of extremists from the neighborhood began to curse at the officers and shout for them to leave the area.

Last night (Monday), officers from the Lev HaBira station in Jerusalem were called to Mea Shearim following concerns that illegal residents were hiding in the area. The illegal immigrants were found hiding on the roof of an apartment in Mea Shearim.

Upon arrival, the officers conducted a search of the building, which was undergoing renovations. After hearing noises from inside, the officers cautiously entered and discovered two suspects (Palestinians from Judea and Samaria, ages 19 and 20) lying on the roof of the apartment. Both were arrested by the police.

Further searches using ladders to navigate between the levels of the building led to the discovery of another suspect, a 48-year-old Palestinian from Judea and Samaria, who was also arrested.

During this operation, as the arrested suspects were being led out of the building, a small group of local residents began to shout and insult the police, calling them "Nazis," "Go away," and "Terrorists." This incident follows another arrest that occurred a few hours earlier in the same neighborhood.

Shortly after 4 PM, a report was received about a suspicious person, prompting police from the Lev HaBira station to be dispatched. During their search, the officers spotted a suspect walking in the street and immediately checked him. Despite claiming to be a 16-year-old resident of East Jerusalem, a thorough investigation revealed that he was an 18-year-old illegal alien from Azariyeh. A search of his belongings uncovered ammunition. The suspect was arrested and taken to the police station for interrogation.

The police stated: "The Israel Police, and the Jerusalem District in particular, will continue to act against the presence of illegal infiltrators in the State of Israel, including prosecuting those who assist them, and maintaining public safety and protection of property at all times."
