Four people were killed and about 15 wounded in three waves of airstrikes attributed to Israel throughout Syria. About 15 military targets belonging to Iranian militias and centers of activity of the Revolutionary Guards in the country were attacked.
According to Syrian media reports, this was "the most violent wave of attacks in the country in years." Among the various areas and provinces attacked during the large-scale military operation are Damascus, the city of Homs in central Syria, Hama on the Mediterranean coast, and Tartus near the border with Lebanon.
A Syrian military source was quoted on the Al-Mayadeen network as saying, "Israel launched an extensive airstrike from northwestern Lebanon, targeting many military sites around Syria. Syrian air defense systems returned fire at Israeli missiles and planes and shot down some of the threats."
