Donald Trump now leads Kamala Harris in Siena/NYT Poll

A September poll conducted by Siena for the New York Times and released today (Sunday) shows former President Donald Trump holding a narrow edge over Democratic Vice President Kamala Harris in the race for the Presidency, 48-47.

According to the New York Times, these numbers are "largely unchanged from a Times/Siena poll taken in late July just after President Biden dropped his re-election bid."

This is a particular blow to Harris, who enjoyed polling "bounces" during her nomination and the Democratic national convention in August.

Of particular note, Trump wins voters in the crucial regions of the South (56-39) and the Midwest (54-43), which he must win in order to have a chance at regaining the White House - though the poll is not broken down into states, which is how the election is ultimately decided.
