UK arms embargo, Netanyahu reaction

Netanyahu reacts to British arms embargo: "Strengthening Hamas"

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has criticized the British government for suspending arms licenses to Israel, accusing Britain of strengthening Hamas instead of standing with Israel. “With or without British weapons, Israel will win the war,” Netanyahu asserted.

In response to the British government’s decision to suspend approximately 30 arms import licenses to Israel, Netanyahu condemned the move as one that “strengthens Hamas.” On his X account, Netanyahu stated in English: “Days after Hamas executed 6 Israeli hostages, the British government suspended 30 arms licenses to Israel. This disgraceful decision will not change Israel’s determination to defeat Hamas, which killed 1,200 people on October 7, including 14 British citizens, and still holds over 100 hostages, including five British citizens.”

“Instead of standing with Israel, a democratic nation defending itself against barbarism, Britain has chosen to bolster Hamas,” Netanyahu added. “Israel is engaged in a just war, taking unprecedented measures to protect civilians while cooperating with international law.”

He concluded, “Just as Britain’s fight against the Nazis is seen today as vital for preserving human civilization, so too will history judge Israel’s battle against Hamas and Iran’s axis of evil.” “With or without British weapons – Israel will win the war.”
