Hamas-Israel negotiations, Ceasefire Hostage deal

Sinwar in Distress: Qatar Takes Unusual Step to Support Hamas

While negotiations for a deal with Hamas continue, Qatar's Prime Minister is considering a visit to Iran—an action that could benefit Hamas and Sinwar.

Despite Hamas's efforts to portray a lack of interest in a deal, senior officials in both Israel and the U.S. believe that Hamas and Yehya Sinwar are in dire need of it.

Yesterday (Monday), after Secretary of State Antony Blinken claimed that Israel had agreed to the American proposal and that he expected Hamas to respond similarly, Qatar's Prime Minister is contemplating a visit to Iran in the coming days to delay Iran's reaction against Israel and reduce regional escalation, according to Kan 11.

It is worth noting that in a video released by the Prime Minister's Office, Netanyahu said: "I had a good and important meeting today with Secretary of State Blinken. I greatly appreciate the efforts that the United States is investing in regional defence against the Iranian axis. This is, of course, important for the State of Israel."
