In an unusual escalation, the military wings of Hamas and Islamic Jihad took responsibility for the attack that occurred last night (Sunday) in Tel Aviv, where a terrorist detonated an explosive device. They claimed that the suicide attack involved an 8 kg explosive device. The statement from Hamas further declared that they would resume suicide attacks throughout the country "as long as Israel continues its slaughter, deportation of residents, and assassination policy."

As a reminder, the police and Shin Bet confirmed this morning (Monday) that the truck explosion in Tel Aviv last night was a terror attack, carried out using a powerful explosive device. As a result of the explosion, a passer-by was moderately injured and received medical treatment.

According to the police statement, "Since the evening hours yesterday, officers from the Tel Aviv district, bomb disposal experts, and forensic personnel have been working in cooperation with the Shin Bet at the scene of the explosion on Lachish Street in Tel Aviv, conducting all necessary actions and checks in coordination with Shin Bet. Now, after all actions have been completed, it can be stated that this was a terror attack involving a powerful explosive device."

As mentioned, immediately following the incident, the Tel Aviv District Commander conducted a special assessment with all investigative and support agencies, instructing to raise the level of alert and conduct extensive searches throughout the Greater Tel Aviv area.

"Israeli police continue with enhanced operational activities in crowded places, in cooperation with special units and volunteers from the emergency response teams to provide security and a sense of safety to citizens," it was stated. "We call on citizens to remain vigilant, report any suspicious persons or objects to the police, and call the emergency number 100."
