Vice President Kamala Harris has reportedly expressed willingness to discuss the possibility of an arms embargo on Israel, according to a recent New York Times report. This development comes in the wake of a meeting with representatives from a pro-Palestinian organization.

On Wednesday, Harris met with two Arab American members of the Uncommitted National Movement, a group that has been calling for a change in U.S. policy towards Israel. The organization has made their support for the Democratic Party in the upcoming elections contingent on a shift in America's stance on the Israel-Gaza conflict.

During the meeting, the representatives shared personal accounts of their families' experiences in Gaza. They conveyed to the Vice President that while they are inclined to support her in the next election, they require "a promise to change policy" in return.

According to the New York Times, Harris responded that she was "open to it" and invited the representatives to a follow-up meeting with her team to discuss the matter further.

This reported openness to discussing an arms embargo marks a potential shift in the administration's approach to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East. It comes at a time of increasing pressure from certain Democratic constituencies to reevaluate U.S. support for Israel in light of the humanitarian situation in Gaza.

The Vice President's office has not yet released an official statement regarding the meeting or the reported comments.
