Two days after the assassination of Hezbollah senior Fouad Shukur, Nasrallah addressed the assassination for the first time in a special speech. In his speech, Nasrallah elaborated on Hezbollah's anticipated response following the assassination on Tuesday night. “Israel's goal was to kill Commander Fouad; the target was a civilian building full of residents. When our commanders, activists, and civilians are killed, it hurts us because we have feelings and we are human. Who said it doesn’t hurt us?” he remarked.
He added: “When leaders, mujahideen, women, and children die, we feel sorrow, tragedy, and pain. What happened in Dahiyeh was not merely an assassination, but aggression. The ‘enemy’ targeted many civilians. The enemy saw the attack on the suburb as a response, but we do not accept this assessment and description; it is aggression and part of the Zionist-American war against the peoples of the region.”
Nasrallah further stated: “The enemy attacked a building full of civilians during the assassination of Fouad Shukur. What happened in Dahiyeh was aggression, not just an assassination. According to internal investigations conducted by Hezbollah, we are not responsible for the fire on Majdal Shams. What Israel did in Beirut is not a response to what happened in Majdal Shams; it is part of the war.”
"The Israelis did not understand what red line they crossed. The war with Israel has entered a new phase." Nasrallah also addressed the opening of the northern front due to the war in Gaza, saying, "We paid a price for our support for the Gaza Strip." Regarding the assassination of a senior Hamas official in Tehran, he noted, “The assassination of Haniyeh was a heavy blow to us, as we are part of the resistance axis.”
