The National Cyber Directorate and the Culture and Sports Ministry issued a joint statement today (Thursday), stating that the online intimidation campaign against the Israeli Olympic team, which included the doxing of individual members, was at Iran's instigation.

According to the statement, at Iran's instigation, a group of hackers claiming to be a French group called the GUD, established social media channels, where they would send threatening messages and publish the personal information of the members of the Israeli Olympic team.

The Directorate is now working to take down the channels with the aid of the State Attorney's cyber unit.
