In a significant bust, police have arrested a 45-year-old IDF lieutenant colonel in the reserves, accused of printing fake military employee identity cards for six Palestinian residents of the West Bank, enabling them to live in Israel illegally.
Following an undercover investigation, authorities revealed that the officer allegedly used a civilian printer to create the counterfeit ID cards over several years. These cards falsely indicated that the Palestinian residents, all from the same family in Tulkarm, were employed in various non-existent military support roles.
The reserve officer was apprehended this morning at his home in northern Israel. The six Palestinians, aged 21, 29, 31, 34, 35, and 55, were also detained for questioning.
The investigation remains ongoing as police continue to unravel the full extent of the forgery operation.
