Israel has been fighting a border war with Hezbollah since the day after October 7, with several exchanges of blows and threats. According to an analysis by N12 reporter Nir Dvori, both sides have achievements and are calculating their next steps.
First some numbers: according to IDF assessments, some 500 Hezbollah terrorists have been killed and 1,500 seriously wounded since the war began, including senior commanders.
Hezbollah has thus far fired some 6,700 rockets, 1,100 anti-tank missiles, 400 heavy rockets, and 200 drones at Israel. The Air Force has struck some 1,800 targets while the IDF fired over 20,000 artillery rounds.
While Hezbollah has withdrawn most of its forces north of the Litani river, about 1,000 Hezbollah terrorists, including hundreds of members of the elite Radwan force remain to maintain the terrorist group's capability of launching attacks on Israel.
Meanwhile, both southern Lebanon and much of northern Israel remain largely depopulated due to civilian evacuation.
Israel continues to deliberate on when and whether to expand the war, including whether to pressure the Lebanese state to rein in Hezbollah.
