New war cabinet formed, without Smotrich or Ben Gvir

Following the departure of Gantz and Eizenkot from the government, a new war cabinet has been formed, comprised of Prime Minister Netanyahu, Defense Minister Gallant, Strategic Affairs Minister Dermer, and Shas party chairman Deri.

Following the departure of State Camp party leaders Benny Gantz and Gadi Eizenkot from the war cabinet, the war cabinet will now be convened based a new complement including the Prime Minister, Defense Minister, Strategic Affairs Minister Ron Dermer, and Shas party chairman Deri, according to a report by Kann News reporter Gili Cohen.

National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir demanded the Prime Minister convene the broader security cabinet in light of the escalation in the north and demanded he be added to the war cabinet itself.

Channel 12 political commentator Amit Segal said earlier today that he believes that Ben Gvir does not actually want to be in the war cabinet and that he finds it convenient to be an "opposition within the coalition."
