Following American pressure, Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu ordered the decision to confiscate AP equipment be reversed.

After causing a diplomatic firestorm by seizing the equipment of the Associated Press on the grounds it would be provided to al-Jazeera, Communications Minister Shlomo Karhi ordered its return tonight (Tuesday) on the orders of Prime Minister Netanyahu.

Karhi, who previously justified his decision to Opposition Leader Yair Lapid, explained his reversal in a tweet on X saying that the matter was now being looked at by the Ministry of Defense and that he would defer to them.
