With the recent firestorms over the draft of Charedim into the IDF, a number of protestors affiliated with the extreme Charedi sect known as the “Jerusalem Faction” blocked Road 4 near Bnei Brak today (Sunday), protesting the draft of yeshivah students.

The protestors blocked this major thoroughfare from both directions until the police arrived to disperse the crowd.

The Police stated that, “The Israel Police considers the right of protest to be a cornerstone of a democratic society and allows protests as long as they take place within the framework of the law. However, the police will not allow public disturbances of any kind or harm to freedom of movement and any behavior which may endanger the public peace.”
