Dr. Yael Frankel-Nir, Deputy Director of the Sheba General Hospital and Director of the Returned Hostages Section, provided an update this evening (Monday) on the condition of Fernando Marman and Louis Har, who were rescued last night in a military operation in Rafah. She noted that the two returnees are stable but have clearly received no medical treatment during their 129 days in Gazan captivity.
“We are at the end of a turbulent and exciting day for the hostages and their families and for the State of Israel,” she said in a statement to the press. “I am happy to update that the condition of the two remains stable, but tests we conducted during the day show the signs of the extended captivity and the lack of medical treatment during captivity.”
She also said that, “we are set to continue our followup…and are very happy and feel the embrace of all of Israel – but still ask to give the families and returnees an opportunity to absorb the event in the coming days, embrace them…and allow them to heal quickly.”
