Israel-Gaza War, Turkey

Globes: Large Flag Factory in Istanbul Refuses to Make Israeli Flags

The decision is likely due to the Turkish government's refusal to encourage exports to Israel due to the war in Gaza.

A large factory in Istanbul refused to carry out a routine order to make Israeli flags for an Israeli client, likely due to the Turkish government's official decision to cease supporting or subsidizing exports to Israel due to the war in Gaza, according to Globes.

This chilling of relations between the two countries comes on the heels of pro-Hamas statements by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, as well as the announcement by the Islamist IHH movement, supporters of the Mavi Marmara flotilla in 2010, that it was prepared to launch another flotilla to assist Gaza if the war was not ended by March.
