MK Tzvi Sukkot joined the protests of relatives of hostages and hundreds of other activists today (Wednesday), as they arrived at the port of Ashdod to prevent trucks containing humanitarian aid meant for Gaza from leaving.

Sukkot: “Transferring aid to the enemy – a stain morally and value-wise”

Sukkot, a member of the Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee, said that “I came here to support the families of the hostages and the activists who came to block the aid trucks to Hamas which for some reason are called ‘humanitarian aid.’”

According to him, “the transfer of aid to the enemy in time of war is a stain morally and value-wise. Everyone knows Hamas takes control of the aid, the preconceptions have already collapsed, and it’s clear to everyone that only pressure on Hamas will bring about the return of the hostages.”

Last week, activists of the Tzav Tesha protest movement demonstrated against the aid trucks at the Kerem Shalom crossing into Gaza. In the first few days, the trucks did not pass through, but then the army declared the crossing a closed military zone and arrested dozens of protestors, leading to the protest moving to the port of Ashdod where the aid is prepared and loaded onto trucks.
