Defense Minister Yoav Gallant spoke last night (between Thursday and Friday) with American Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin, saying Israel was approaching a decisive point in the north.
In the talks between the two, Minister Gallant addressed the fighting against Hezbollah, noting that Israel is committed to returning its northern residents to their homes safely and are approaching a decisive moment on the subject. He also stressed that Israel prefers to do so through a political settlement but is also prepared to do so through military force.
In the Gaza sector, Gallant updated the Defense Secretary regarding the operational efforts in the fighting, the troops’ progress in the field, the dismantlement of terror infrastructures, destruction of terror tunnels, and the elimination of terrorists.
The Defense Minister stressed Israel’s determination to continue the fighting until the goals of the war were achieved – removing Hamas’ military and governmental capabilities and returning the hostages held in Gaza to Israel.
