Kremlin Spokesperson Dimitri Peskov stated that Russia condemns the strikes launched by the US and the UK against Houthi rebels in Yemen, saying they are “illegitimate” according to international law. He added that “Russia has repeatedly pressed the Houthis to cease attacking ships in the Red Sea.

Quite a few countries around the world, including Iraq, Kuwait, Oman, and more attacked the United States for bombing many areas under Houthi control in Yemen. Oman’s Foreign Minister said that “the American-British strike in Yemen is contrary to our position, and adds fuel to an already explosive situation.” Kuwait’s Foreign Ministry also said that “we are following events in the Red Sea with concern.”

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan addressed the night attack in Yemen, saying that “the United States and Britain are trying to turn the Red Sea into a Blood Sea.”

The Houthis reported this morning that 5 of their activists were killed an six more wounded in the bombardments. The United States also destroyed many weapons warehouses and strategic targets.
