Israel has been harshly criticized for the number of journalists dying on the job in Gaza due to Israeli military action. Independent journalist David Collier recently looked at the names of the journalists provided, finding many to either to be affiliated with terrorist groups and their media outlets, freelancers who haven't worked since the war started, or people who don't even work in the field at all.
In addition, Collier found the social media accounts of a majority of those claimed by Hamas and the Committee to Protect Journalists to be filled with celebration and encouragement of terrorism, including expressions of joy at the October 7 Hamas massacre in the south.
