Good news for travelers between Israel and the US: The Israeli Civilian Aviation Authority negotiating with American authorities to allow Israir to service the US-Israel route, which would increase competition and likely reduce airline prices, according to Israel Hayom.
Ever since the war began, foreign airlines and especially low-cost companies have been cancelling, delaying, re-entering, and then cancelling flights to Israel, causing constant annoyance to Israeli travelers and forcing them to pay much higher prices with El Al.
While Israir is not expected to be able to begin flights for at least a few months, once it does, it will mean a steady, reliable alternative to El Al.
