A member of the security political cabinet, Minister Hili Tropper from the National Unity party, refers this morning to the fighting in Gaza and the return of the abductees and says that it is more urgent to return the captives than to topple the Hamas regime.

In an interview with Kan Reshet Bet, Tropper referred to the continued introduction of humanitarian aid to Gaza, and said: "The international interest is significant, a large part of the fighting depends on legitimacy and the aid that comes from countries around the world. In addition, the security establishment prefers to have a humanitarian area for population transit. As a senior commander said in one of the cabinets, he prefers to fight without children and women running around between the tanks.''

Regarding the talks for the release of abductees, Tropper said: "We are not on the verge of a breakthrough, but we continue to try. I am not in a competition as to which goal is more important, but it is clear what is more urgent. The overthrow of Hamas rule can be done even in a month or six months. Regarding the return of abductees - It is not certain that there will be anyone to return after such a period."
