Israel at war, the 65th day. The reserve fighters of the Jerusalem Brigade managed to carry out a successful ambush for the Hamas terrorists who wanted to surprise them in the area where they were (protecting) inside Gaza.
Following an intelligence alert about a planned attack by terrorists on the fortification area of fighters from the battle team of the Jerusalem Brigade, the fighters evacuated the fortification and went on standby for an attack. At the same time, combat targets were attacked by the brigade fire complex in cooperation with the Air Force.
Later, the fighters who were in the ambush shot at the terrorists who came out of the tunnel shaft, a shot that led to a bomb explosion in the shaft followed by sub-explosions.
The fighters in collaboration with the Yahalom Unit uncovered another shaft in the area and destroyed it.
The IDF says: "Thanks to accurate intelligence and the activity of the fighters - the incident ended with the terrorists being thwarted and the shaft route destroyed underground."
