The socio-economic cabinet unanimously decided not to allow the introduction of Palestinian laborers from Judea and Samaria into the territories of Israel, and in fact to continue the policy established by the security cabinet when the war broke out at the end of Simchat Torah. Recall that this is a recommendation and the final decision is in the hands of the political-security cabinet.

A statement issued by the cabinet stated: "After a lengthy discussion in which the positions of professionals were presented to the members of the socio-economic cabinet, the ministers voted unanimously on a recommendation not to admit Arab laborers who are residents of Judea and Samaria. Minister Dichter chose not to vote.

In addition, the ministers decided to call on the Prime Minister to hold a discussion as soon as possible on the comparison of the authority and criteria for the entry of Arab workers into the Israeli settlements in Judea and Samaria.

What happened must not be continued

Chairman of the Social and Economic Cabinet, Minister of Finance Bezalel Smotrich: "I thank the members of the cabinet for voting against the introduction of Arab workers living in Judea and Samaria to work in the areas of the Green Line. A significant part of the internalization of the collapse of the conception is that it is forbidden to continue what was. Money and building permits do not buy peace. Whoever kills us when he has no money will kill us when he has money.

"The security of the citizens of Israel comes first and we recommend to the Political Security Cabinet not to approve the entry of the workers. We can and should promote alternatives that will provide a different solution to the economy.

"I believe that the situation should also be similar in work within Judea and Samaria, and the economic cabinet made a decision to call for a discussion as soon as possible comparing the criteria for the entry of Arab workers from Judea and Samaria to settlements in Judea and Samaria. It is forbidden to discriminate between blood and blood and the security of all Israeli citizens must be above all other considerations."
