The community of Moshav Shuva from the Gaza Strip envelope, vacated the Moshav and dispersed to a number of hotels. 43 families out of 100 arrived at Kibbutz Almog in the north of the Dead Sea.
Since the residents of the moshav are religious, repentant and "on the religious spectrum" as the residents call it, they enrolled the children to study at Mitzpeh Yericho, the nearest religious settlement, and the Mitzpeh Yericho community accepted them wholeheartedly.
Every Sunday, the women of the settlement come to Kibbutz Almog with huge pots of soup and bring them the smell of home. The women of the moshav describe that the thing they miss the most in the kibbutz is home-cooked food. The rooms do not have a kitchenette, there is a table with a toaster or a small electric stove on it and next to it there's a sitting area for the children to do homework. That's why this small meeting between a hot pot, a big smile, good music and an embracing atmosphere is like warm soup for the soul.
The community is waiting to return to their home in peace and security and in the meantime they are here receiving a big hug from the entire people of Israel.
