Sara Netanyahu met with the siblings Maya and Itay Regev who were released from Hamas captivity: "You have been through the inferno of hell. The whole nation followed with concern and anticipation for your return."

The Prime Minister's wife, Sara Netanyahu, met this evening with the Regev family, whose children Maya and Itay were brought home from Hamas captivity. Mrs. Netanyahu visited the family home and met Maya and Itay, their brother Guy and parents Ilan and Mirit. The prime minister's wife talked with the family members about the horrors experienced by Hamas terrorists, about the medical treatments Maya underwent in the hospital, about Itay's injury and about their return home to family and friends.

Sara Netanyahu to the family: "I am so happy to meet you at your home. I prayed for your return and the return of our loved ones. I am happy to meet you and see you smiling at last. I prayed for this moment. Maya and Itay - you went through hell. The whole nation followed with concern and anticipation for your return. You are wrapped with the love of your family and the love of the whole nation. You are protected now."

I know firsthand that the Prime Minister worked around the clock to turn over every stone and bring you home safely and I know he continues to do everything to bring all our abductees home safely. Welcome back home."

As published two days ago, 21-year-old Maya Regev and 18-year-old Itay Regev arrived in Soroka last week from captivity in Gaza, separately, several days apart. Maya arrived in Soroka after being held captive for 50 days. A dedicated multi-professional team received her and treated her in the trauma room. Social workers accompanied her family even before she arrived at the hospital.

Maya arrived with a complex leg injury after being shot on Simchat Torah by terrorists. She underwent initial assessment and treatment by a multi-professional team and a few hours later was taken into the operating room. Maya's meeting with her parents and younger brother was incomplete and mixed with sadness, since Itay still remained in Gaza.
