For the first time since the beginning of the war, the National Security Headquarters announced (Monday) that the travel warning also applies to European countries.
The National Security Headquarters conducts a continuous assessment of the situation. According to them, "Within this framework, a message to the public was published on November 3 that includes recommendations regarding the conduct of Israelis abroad at this time, while refining the threat regarding several countries. In a direct continuation, we performed an in-depth examination of all the countries, adjusting the travel warning level to the current threat," they noted. According to officials at the National Security Headquarters, it was decided to adjust the travel warning level in dozens of countries around the world. Details of the countries can be found on the National Security Headquarters website.
According to the announcement of the security officials, many countries in Western Europe, including the United Kingdom, France and Germany, in South America, including Brazil and Argentina, as well as Australia and Russia, have been put on a level 2 travel warning - a recommendation to take increased precautions.
The National Security Headquarters also notes that countries in Africa, including South Africa and Eritrea, and countries in Central Asia, including Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Turkmenistan, have been put on a level 3 travel warning - a recommendation to consider non-essential travel.
Increased efforts by Iran and its proxies to attack Israeli and Jewish targets
Since the beginning of the war, increased efforts have been detected on the part of Iran and its proxies, as well as on the part of Hamas and elements of global jihad, to attack Israeli and Jewish targets around the world. This, along with a continuous and significant increase in incitement, attempted attacks and widespread manifestations of anti-Semitism in many countries.
Therefore, the National Security Headquarters reiterates its recommendation to consider the necessity of travel at this time. For the public going abroad, it is recommended to choose their destinations in an informed manner, while taking the recommended precautions, in any destination, and to consider their conduct in light of the recommendations detailed on the website as mentioned and in particular:
- Postpone travel to countries with travel warnings, with an emphasis on Arab and Middle Eastern countries, the North Caucasus, countries surrounding Iran and a number of Muslim countries in Asia.
- Check the state of protests and manifestations of violence against Israel in the chosen destination, even in countries without a travel warning.
- Stay away from demonstrations and protests.
- Maintain vigilance while staying at the destination, and make sure to pay attention to what is happening around.
- Avoid externalizing Israeli and Jewish symbols, and large gatherings of Israeli and Jewish factors.
- Find out ahead of time the phone numbers of the emergency services at the chosen destination and of the local Israeli representation, if it exists there.
