During the Reserve Service: Bedouins Stole the Herd

An agricultural farm owner who was drafted into the reserves at the outbreak of the war left the farm in the hands of young volunteers; Bedouins from the nearby encampment cluster noticed his absence, and stole dozens of goats from the herd.

Zohar Sabah, owner of a farm in the Jordan Valley who received an Order 8 at the outbreak of war, decided to leave the management of the farm in the hands of volunteer youths and enlisted in reserve service. A number of Bedouins from a nearby camp took advantage of his absence and stole the herd of goats.

Yesterday (Tuesday) in the afternoon, Bedouins from the nearby illegal encampment cluster, Marajat, who noticed the absence of the owner of the farm, took advantage of the moment when the new shepherd did not notice what was happening around him and managed to steal dozens of goats from the herd.

When the theft was discovered, the owner of the farm was called to the scene, and together with other citizens and military and police forces began extensive searches in the area. In order to disrupt the search and prevent the finding of the stolen herd, dozens of masked Bedouin Arabs from the Marajat encampment cluster gathered around the searchers, and tried to attack them with clubs and stones.

Only after many hours were the stolen goats located inside one of the houses in the nearby Bedouin encampment, when some of their ears had already been brutally cut off in order to remove their identification earrings and obscure traces. When the forces arrived at the house where the goats were hidden, the thieves fled the scene, but the police informed the owner of the farm that the identity of the thieves, residents of the Bedouin encampment, was known and they would be arrested sooner or later.
