Officially: the Government Approved the Extension of the Governor's Term

The government officially extended the tenure of Amir Yaron, governor of the Bank of Israel, after they agreed to extend his appointment with the establishment of the emergency government to manage the war.

After many discussions, the government officially approved the extension of the tenure of the incumbent Governor of the Bank of Israel, Amir Yaron, for another term.

The government has now approved the proposal of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich to extend the term of office of Bank of Israel Governor Prof. Amir Yaron for another term.

After a term full of political storms between multiple election campaigns, and many political storms that included statements by the commissioner against the current government and the legislation it promoted, the government decided to extend the commissioner's term one more time, the decision was brought up by the Prime Minister and the Minister of Finance.
