The Bereaved Families Against the Deal: "Any Terrorist who is Released will Come Back and Harm"

In the forum of the bereaved families and victims of terrorism, they made it clear that they oppose any deal that would include the release of terrorists: "In the Shalit deal, the murderers of the October 7th massacre were released, and there is no reason why the release of the terrorists should be any different this time."

Ahead of the government meeting to approve the outline of the prisoner exchange deal between Israel and Hamas, in the "Choosing Life" forum, the bereaved families and victims of terrorism made it clear that they oppose any deal that would include the release of terrorists. However, they stated in the forum that they are waiting to hear the details of the deal - and according to them they will know whether they will appeal against it.

"We know and warn that any terrorist who is released now will return and harm in the future" warned the bereaved families forum. According to them, "in the Shalit deal, the murderers of the October 7 massacre were released, and there is no reason why the release of the terrorists will be any different this time."

At the same time, Yaakov Nitzan, the father of the soldier Gilad Nitzan who was killed in the battles in Gaza, made it clear in a letter he sent to members of the government that he opposes the deal. "I would like to remind and draw your attention to simple points that are obvious to every intelligent person in Israel," he wrote. "Ceasefire = giving grace time to the enemy forces, to get organized, thicken positions, and re-organize the defense system. In a ceasefire - with our own hands we decide that more soldiers will be killed."

He also claimed that "an incessant discussion about negotiations for the release of some of the abductees equals laxity, surrender, giving international, technical and electoral power to Hamas. Non-stop talk about negotiations for the release of some of the abductees = bringing tremendous international pressure on us to agree and stop the fighting."

"50 abductees are not equal to 236 abductees" concluded Nitzan. "A reminder to those who have forgotten - 46 days ago, 1,400 men, women and children, were murdered, slaughtered and burned in the State of Israel. The negotiations on a ceasefire were done with those who ordered, commanded and carried out the massacre."

They are right but what is the choice? How else can we release the current hostages?
