After many attacks that took place on the road that passes through the Arab village of Havara, this morning (Sunday) the Huwara bypass road - phase one, from the Great Yitzhar intersection to the Temple Mount was opened to traffic for the first time.

During the opening of the road, the head of the Samaria Council, Yossi Dagan, blessed that we lived in the name and the kingdom. The road was inaugurated by Minister of Transportation Miri Regev, Rabbi Elyaḳim Levanon Rabbi of the Samaria, Samaria Brigade Col. Shimon Siso, Chairman of Netivei Israel Yigal Amadi, CEO of Netivei Israel Nissim Peretz and many other public figures who inaugurated the road on the first trip.

Minister of Transportation Regev said "The inauguration of the first section and the meaning of the Huwara Bypass Road is an exciting closing of the circle for me, this is a life-saving road that will add security and safety to the pioneer settlers, especially in the difficult times we are in. The new section will allow the residents to travel on the road safely. As I promised, and with god help, We will also inaugurate the second part before the end of the year."

Yossi Dagan: We don't run away from anywhere

The head of the Samaria Council, Yossi Dagan, said at the inauguration of the road: "5 years after the hunger strike of the heads of the authorities and the bereaved families - we are inaugurating phase I of the Havara bypass. Dagan also thanked the Shomron Brigadier Colonel Shimon Siso, the division commander, the general, the Minister of Defense, and the entire system for the daily work, day and night, for the significant move to reach the opening of the road.

Rabbi Lebanon: Paving the roads is a key to settlement

Rabbi Eliakim Levanon blessed and said: "Reality does not have fast wings like imagination. This is what Rabbi Kook says in Orot Teshuvah, settlement has 3 branches: establishing settlements, bringing people, and building roads, the building of roads is the key to settlement, we have seen; that in places where there are settlements there are not Wars, in places where there are no settlements, we pay a very high price."

Due to the urgent security need, and at the height of the war, all the factors managed to finish the construction of the important road with joint forces. The road is paved from the Great Yitzhar Junction to the Batitom Junction. By January, the construction of the entire road is expected to be completed and it will be opened to traffic. The opening of the road at the height of the fighting became a central goal due to the many attacks on the road, including the murder of the brothers Hillel Weigel and Yaniv HY"D. The Shomron Regional Council worked in full cooperation with Israel Routes, the Ministry of Transportation, and the IDF so that the road would be opened quickly while complying with the security regulations, Also, the old Huwara road was not closed to Israeli traffic.
