Vox Populi: Poll Shows Who Israelis Hold Responsible for October 7

Four weeks since the massacre, the public has answers for who is responsible, who should go home, and what should come next. Details below.

The first poll conducted by Professor Camil Fuchs for Channel 13 News reveals the public’s views on the security failure which led to the massacre in the Gaza Perimeter settlements and nearby cities.

According to the poll, 56% don’t trust Prime Minister Netanyahu to manage the war, while 28% do.

On the question of who bears the most responsibility for the failure of October 7: 44% responded Prime Minister Netanyahu, 33% said the IDF Chief of Staff and other senior officers, and 5% responded Defense Minister Gallant.

In addition, 47% of those asked said that Prime Minister Netanyahu needs to resign at the end of the war, 29% believe he needs to resign at once, and 18% believe he should stay in his position even after the war.

55% of those asked believe that if the Hamas government is not toppled, the residents of the Gaza Perimeter do not need to return home, as opposed to 24% who believe they do.

74% of those polled support an independent state commission of inquiry, 12% support a government commission of inquiry, and 4% said there’s no need for a commission of inquiry.

64% believe Israel needs to go to elections after the war is over, as opposed to 26% who think Israel doesn’t need to go to elections.

68% of those asked responded that the economic treatment of the citizenry led by the Prime Minister and Finance Minister Smotrich is not good, as opposed to 19% who responded that it is.
