Permitted for publication: The victim in the shooting attack in Samaria is Elhanan Klein, a resident of the Einav settlement in Samaria. He is the son of Rabbi Yehuda and Yael from Shadmot Mehola.
Elhanan (29), from the Einav settlement in the Shomron, leaves behind a pregnant wife (Hila) and three children, aged one to five (B'naya, Talia, and Amihai). Just less than a year ago, he received a certificate of excellence from the commander of the Judea and Samaria Division for neutralizing a terrorist. He was a soldier on his way back to the settlement from reserve duty.
Klein was murdered in a shooting attack when a terrorist opened fire towards him on the road between Shavei Shomron and Einav. He lost control of his vehicle, causing it to overturn, and tragically, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
IDF forces initiated a pursuit of the terrorists and seized the vehicle from which the shooting attack was carried out near one of the nearby villages, burned.
Senior paramedic at Magen David Adom, Benny Landsberg, said: "When we arrived at the scene, we saw a car overturned on its roof by the side of the road. The car's driver, a man in his 30s, was unconscious, without a pulse, and with penetrating injuries. We conducted medical assessments, and within a short time, we had to pronounce his death."

From the community of Einav, it was reported: "With great sorrow and heavy hearts, we learned this morning about the murder of our dear and beloved friend Elhanan Klein, hy"d. In the challenging war that Israel is grappling with, Einav has lost a man of humility, joy, heroism, and full of generosity, who influenced many in the community. The entire Einav community is mourning the terrible loss with the family."
Yossi Dagan, the head of the Samaria Regional Council, said, "Elhanan was a true hero, a father of three young children and an infant who will grow up without hugging his father. Our hearts are broken. The entire Samaria settlement embraces the soldiers of the IDF and the security system along with all of the people of Israel. The IDF and the Samaria settlements are the protective shield of the State of Israel. We are in pain, we are mourning, and we stand tall with all of the people of Israel, delivering a double blow to our murderous barbaric enemies. We are all one, and together, we will triumph."
