Defense Minister Yoav Gallant responded this evening (Monday) to the extraction of soldier Ori Megidish, who was kidnapped to the Gaza Strip and freed after a broad rescue effort. He praised the forces participating in the operation, clarifying that they would continue to work to free the hostages.
“The ground action is not easy, the enemy is resisting, but IDF forces are working with precision and determination through the cooperation of land, air and quality intelligence forces,” Gallant said. “This machine cannot be stopped, and I am convinced that they will succeed in carrying out their missions.”
Gallant also noted that “the freeing of the soldier is proof of the ability to reach the hostages and the importance of ground maneuver.” He also made clear that “Hamas terrorists have just two possibilities – surrender unconditionally or die.”
